Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream

I recently had my whole skin type change, from combination-with-acne skin to SCREAMINGLY dry and reactive. Thanks, eczema flare! This stuff is not the only product from before the flare I can still use, BUT it is the only product from before the flare that I now feel like I can't live without.

This stuff is loaded with humectants and has some emollients; but unusually among products I've found for sensitive/dry skin, it has NO occlusives. So it is the best layering moisturizer I have found. It gives instant soak-in relief to my skin when it's post-cleansing and panicky and I know I can put it on without giving up penetration on my next step (which might be prescription ointments, depending.)

In addition to continuing to use this on my 'new' face as a first moisture step, I started using it on my hands at night before a more conventional ceramide body cream and cotton gloves, and I really think it was a huge part of my (chapped, angry, cracking) hands starting to turn around. It's the step that lets other moisturizers actually get into my irritated skin and start helping. I love this stuff!

This is a very gentle cream. I've been using the centella toner and serum from this brand, and I often find by the time I get to my moisturizer step I need to wait for them to soak in a bit; when I do add this one later it combines nicely with them, but I don't feel like I miss it much if I skip it. Light hydration and non-irritating (which is a top priority for me), but other than that not a standout product for me.

I received a sample size of this to try but wasn't a fan of the texture. I have oily, dehydrated, acne-prone skin, and I feel like this made me look oilier without doing much hydrating.

That being said, it didn't break me out and felt very lightweight so maybe it is better suited as a summertime moisturizer!
